Design Manager
Overview
We're looking for a Design Manager to join our team in Dubai, leading the successful delivery of projects across all phases, from mobilisation and design coordination through procurement, construction and handover. This is a client-facing role for someone ready to manage day-to-day project delivery, coordinate stakeholders and maintain robust project controls, with the support, mentorship and strategic oversight of our Senior Design Managers behind them.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project mobilisation, establishing clear governance, controls and delivery strategy from the outset
- Chair and contribute to project meetings, finalising minutes, dashboards and reporting for issuance
- Coordinate and monitor the design process, managing consultants and sub-consultants to ensure deliverables are met on time and to quality
- Maintain design and project control trackers, utilising Power BI dashboards where appropriate
- Coordinate early construction works, driving information development (IFT/IFC packs) and chairing implementation coordination meetings
- Manage the final submission process, client response sheets and Final Account negotiations through to close-out
- Escalate key risks, decisions and commercial matters to Senior Design Managers where appropriate
- Mentor and support junior team members and Project Coordinators as capability develops
Requirements
- Degree qualification in Project/Design Management, Construction Management, Engineering or a related field
- 5–8 years' relevant experience
- Must be currently residing in the UAE
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence managing stakeholders, clients and consultants
- Proactive, accountable approach to project delivery and decision-making
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, Project and Teams
