Luke Hill & David Reid, Associate Directors at Carter Hones Associates
Carter Hones Associates has closed its strongest twelve months to date, growing its team past 60 people, promoting two long-serving leaders to Associate Director and appointing new senior leadership to support its expansion in Saudi Arabia. The milestones mark sustained momentum across the consultancy's Project Management, Design Management and Cost Management service lines.
Founded in 2010, the firm has organically grown into an established and respected regional project consultancy, operating across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, and with an expanding portfolio spanning large-scale masterplan, hospitality, entertainment and mixed-use developments. Responding to strong client demand, the team has strengthened all departments, to serve a growing pipeline of major regional commissions.
The team from Carter Hones Associates has been entrusted with a number of major new build and refurbishment hospitality projects across the GCC, including landmark five-star properties in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The projects involve the transformation of significant operational hotel assets, requiring management of complex new build hotel developments - including the J1 Hotel - a Gran Meliá Hotel in Port de La Mer, Dubai - alongside complicated refurbishment programmes running alongside live operating hotel environments. In addition to their hospitality portfolio, Carter Hones continues to build its role on large-scale masterplan and entertainment developments in Saudi Arabia.
The Cost Management department has added Richard Roberts as Senior Commercial Manager and a new Commercial Manager, both brought in to support a growing volume of complex commercial projects. The Design Management team has also grown significantly, adding and promoting team members to support increasingly ambitious projects. These additions allow the consultancy to support larger and more complex projects while maintaining the hands-on, senior-led and accountable delivery approach which has been the cornerstone of the company’s dependable reputation.
Craig Carter, founder of Carter Hones Associates, said:
Sixteen years ago, we set out to build a consultancy grounded in trust, one where senior people stayed close to delivery and where integrity shaped every client relationship. That principle remains constant. What has changed since those early days, is the scale of the projects we are trusted to deliver, and the professionalism it takes to deliver them well. Sustainable growth, built on long-term relationships, consistent quality, and a team that takes real ownership of every project. Those same values - integrity, knowledge, professionalism and trust - will continue to guide us into the next phase of our strategic plan.

Central to the objective of intentional development and investment in its people, as well as the desire to promote from within, Carter Hones have made two of the year's most significant internal promotions.
Luke Hill and David Reid have both been promoted to Associate Director. Luke has been with the firm for over four years, David for two - recognition of the impact each has had on their team and the trust they've built along the way. Luke helps lead the firm's Project Management team alongside Ryan Smyth, Partner and Head of Operations, and has worked across some of the region's most high-profile hospitality and F&B projects. David will contribute to the leadership of the Design Management function in the region, working closely with Partner Nathan Hones, and has played a leading role across the firm's expanding portfolio of projects at Qiddiya, Saudi Arabia's flagship entertainment destination. Beyond their project delivery, both have played an important role in developing their teams, mentoring colleagues and utilising advancements in technology to streamline processes and efficiencies within their departments.
The firm has also made a key strategic appointment in Saudi Arabia, with a new KSA-based Associate Director joining to lead the consultancy's expansion across the Kingdom. With an established office in Riyadh and an expanding role on some of Saudi Arabia's most ambitious developments, the appointment reflects both the scale of the opportunity the firm sees in the Saudi market and its commitment to pairing senior, locally based leadership with deep regional knowledge.
Nathan Hones, Partner and Chief Operating Officer at Carter Hones Associates, said:
The strength of our business has always been our people. Our approach starts with finding and developing exceptional professionals, giving them genuine responsibility and backing them to build lasting relationships with clients. Dave and Luke’s well-earned promotions reflect exactly that: talent developed within the business over two and four years respectively, two guys recognised for consistent delivery and now helping to lead their departments into their next phase. Our new Associate Director appointment in Saudi Arabia applies the same principle, providing a professional and personalised service delivered with care, knowledge and local expertise.

The firm's strategic repositioning towards larger, higher-value developments reflects both the maturing of the business and the changing shape of demand across the region. Across the GCC, developers are delivering projects of increasing scale, complexity and ambition, and supporting them requires integrated expertise across project, design and cost management, that's what has positioned the consultancy for the region's most demanding projects.
With a dedicated team of more than 60 professionals, Carter Hones Associates enters its next phase from a position of real strength and diversity. The same values that each team member lives and breaths, and that have guided the business for sixteen years - integrity, knowledge, professionalism and trust - will continue to guide it well into a bright future ahead.
